We are pleased to announce that the St. Albans Chesapeake and Ohio Modelers Inc. (SACOM) has received a donation of 4.6 acres of land in St. Albans. The transfer of the deed was registered with the Kanawha County Clerks Office and became official on July 3, 2003.

This generous donation is from James "Leonard" Smith Sr. of St. Albans. Mr. Smith is a long time resident of the St. Albans area and donated the land to help SACOM realize it’s goal of a permanent railroad museum and display in St. Albans. The value of the donation is approximately $50,000.00.

The SACOM board of directors is currently studying the best way to utilize the land to achieve the group’s goal.
