The St. Albans Chesapeake and Ohio Modelers Inc. is an organization made up of people who want to share the rich history of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad in the St. Albans, West Virginia area using scale models. Our members enjoy modeling the C & O, as well as Chessie System, CSX and other railroads connected with the C & O. We are a non-profit educational organization as defined by IRS code 501(c)(3). The group was formed in August, 2000 and in our short existence we have we have built a 40 foot by 8 foot modular layout which features the City of St. Albans, Ashland Kentucky and the Armco Steel mill at Ashland Kentucky. The layout was displayed at the 2001 C & O H S conference in Ashland, at Trainfest at Tamarak in Beckley, West Virginia and at our shows in St. Albans, each November since 2001.

In addition to the modular layout program, our organization also goes to local schools and gives a PowerPoint presentation explaining the connection of St. Albans to the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad through history. This presentation may also include a member in an authentic Chesapeake and Ohio passenger conductor's uniform explaining the history of rail passenger service in the area.

In this way our organization can share what we feel is an important, though often overlooked, part of history. We can tell a small part of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad story.

Our organization depends on members dues, fund raisers/train shows and donations to fulfill our goals.
