SACOM Gives Back to the Community
Thursday, February 5, 2009
Following the lead of the F. O. P. and other non profits, SACOM has contracted with a professional fund raising company to help raise money to allow us to fulfill our goals. Money raised will be used to ready the new building for operations and make much needed repairs to the depot.
We are also giving back to our community this year. We have earmarked the first of the money raised to help some less fortunate youngsters. With the help of Chuck and Sherri Willie, we have procured 10 new Athearn HO scale train sets. These have been turned over to a Father Bill Barfield of St. Marks Episcopal Church who has agreed to make sure they find their way to 10 kids who may not otherwise be able to enjoy a train under the tree.
Anyone interested in making a donation to SACOM for this event should contact Jim Butler or Paul Tabit. And remember, your kindness is tax deductible.
